7.29.2007

As promised here is the original poem, the backbone of my Blogathon posts. Remember the beginning is in the first post at 09:00 EST on July 28.

Take the first letter of "Line #" posts (including "Title") to read:

Life

no one asked
to come to this place
but here we are
together
whether by fate
chance or
accident
we arrive
in an illustrious
sea of intrigue
curiosity
grips us
holds fast dreams
of unpredictable
futures
laugh
cry
pain
anger
emotions
bind and guide
their precious cargo
trials and
tribulations
triumphs and
failures
lead
to an end
we all must face
dust returning
to itself
to start again
renewed

questions
now stir
if a purpose
can be found
while we plod
through this life

why must many suffer
where an abundance
can go around

why some kill to kill
hurt to hurt

working together
sustaining our home
creates tomorrow

End of Blogathon 2007

After I get some rest I will be posting the original poem, the foundation of this 24 hour endeavor, in its entirety, in case you missed a line or do not know what am I am talking about because you may just now be stopping by (in this case start at the beginning). Plus I am interested in reading some of what others wrote, since I did not get much of a chance to earlier.

Again, a big round of applause to all of my sponsors. I am sure all those benefiting from your generosity will greatly appreciate it.

"The night before"

The planned theme of this years' Blogathon is poetry (maybe some photography). I have written a poem which will be broken down, line by line and encrypted into smaller poems. Relevant posts will be given a line number as a "title". Crack the code and read the entire original poem by the end of the Blogathon.

Check out the remark section for additional comments I may add periodically as spontaneous thoughts spill out of my brain.

Again, I would like to thank all of my sponsors listed in the sidebar.

Well done!

7.10.2007

Last year, my first Blogathon, was a huge success. I was able to raise $125 for the Tibetan Nuns Project.

I hope this year I can at least match it.

Last year my goal, besides completing Blogathon 2006, was to sponsor a nun for a year. Her name is Sonam Yangzom, living in India, and I plan to continue sponsoring her for years to come.

7.09.2007

"In 1987 the Tibetan Nuns Project was founded to provide education and humanitarian aid to refugee nuns from Tibet and the Himalayan regions of India. Food, clothing, housing, and basic medical care were organized. A sponsorship program was set up which allows donors from around the world to contribute to the effort. Now, nuns in four different nunneries -- each from a different Tibetan Buddhist tradition -- receive support through the Project." ~ Tibetan Nuns Project
